Şehzade first kissed the hemline of the sultan and then sat on a throne between the sultan and the şeyhülislam. English ambassador Sir John wrote on a letter to his friend in January 1674 mentioned about this festival; “…According to the records of the palace
there hadn't been a public festival like this in Edirne for sixty years… I'll join this festival and watch the magnificence of the empirement; I think I'll see a big army, good trained many saddle horses, rich belongings and glaring, ornamental, jewelled works on this festival.” This was the biggest festival since the festival of 1582. Many foreign ambassadors joined this festival as well. French ambassador Nointel wrote to Pomponne on his letter on sixth of June in 1675, “They all conduced to huge shows which entertain the whole empirement. 6000 boys from the states and 2000 boys had circumcision with şehzade. Officers made a contribution by their existence. Many dancers, jesters, skilled people and technics invited to this festival. Because the food was much enough to satisfy Pantagruel, Greeks of Turkish citizenship invited from Edirne…
As a tradition of nomadic and warrior days, public and the people of palace watched the shows in tents. It could be called a camp or a city established of tents.” Arranging and the managing of the festivals was the duty of the District Treasurer Durmuş Mehmet Efendi. To be watched by harem, Mehmet Efendi charged for the addiotional building. For the beanfeasts Merzifonlu Hüseyin Ağa came from İstanbul to cook and 150 cooks from the palace and 300 cooks from the provinces charged with him. 50 hewers from Zülüflüyan and 50 hewers from the old palace were chosen to serve coffee, sherbet and frankincence. Before the festival began 37000 chicken, 5000 gooses, 6000 ducks were taken and 4000 trays, 2000 cooking pans, 200 large cooking pans, 1100 new and large cooking pans that borrowed from artisans of Edirne and provided 30 large boilers, 3000 mevlüt plates, 1500 jars, 3000 china plates."

Place and time of the festivals
Festivals had celebrated in the borders of the Empirement as it extended in İstanbul. The most brilliant festivals were in Emirgan, Hidiv Palace and Beykoz. In tempore of III. Murat, when a festival had arranged fort he ambassador of Iran in the last period of XI. Century, they used a very large area. In 1582 the circumcision feast of III. Murat's son III. Mehmet took 53 days. “It was as brilliant festival as in foreign countries. According to some historians, this festival had taken for 55 days and 55 nights.” In 1457 the festival which was arranged for Fatih Sultan Mehmet's sons Beyazıd and Mustafa had taken for a month. celebrated in Ayşe Hatun Han. The feast started in Edirne in 26 May and took fifteen days. In 1524, when the Kanuni Sultan Suleyman's sister married to Sadrazam Ibrahim Paşa and in 1530, for the circumcision of his four sons arranged festivals. The circumcision in 1530 started on the 27th of June and took three weeks. In 1832, the brilliant festival which was arranged for the II. Mahmut's son Abdülmecid's beginning to school, arranged at the Kadıköy side, in İbrahim Ağa meadowy and took three days. In 1720, the circumcision of III. Sultan Ahmed's four sons (Süleyman, Mehmet, III. Mustafa and Beyazıt, it took fifteen days) and the marriage of his three daughters… four days after the circumcision feast, II. Mustafa's daughters and two of his nephews married to Governor of Mosul Osman and the Governor of Mosul Silahtar İbrahim Paşa and his three dauthers married to Captain Süleyman, Nişancı Mustafa and the Governor of Rakka Ali Paşa.
