They
were the most active crew of the festivals who were dancing
funny and imitate the other dancers. They
wore paper made clothes, cones,skullcap, shaved headed, funny
and wore masks called "yüzlük". |
| They appear with a big noise, they cling
the pots they carry. Some were dancing with small bells. It
was told also they called as "cin askeri". Afterwards in Orta
Oyunu dancers in strange clothes also called "curcuna". |

In
the 1582 festival pupils danced curcuna for the sultan. But it
wasn't known when the curcuna and Orta Oyunu had united. In the
16th and 17th centuries, in 1582 at the time of Edirne Festival
of IV. Mehmet the pupils danced curcuna and in 1720 in Istanbul
there were curcunabaz called cin askeri at the circumcision of
III. Ahmet. In 1424 in Bursa, they also danced at the weddin
of the daugther of II. Murat. |
